Recruitment of Choral Conductor St. Paul's Co-educational College (SPCC) invites applications from outstanding, passionate, and visionary choral musicians to join our renowned Music Department as a Part-Time Choral Conductor for the School’s Treble Choir. SPCC has a long-standing tradition of musical excellence, with our choirs consistently achieving top honours both locally and internationally. We are seeking an inspiring educator and conductor who can nurture young voices, foster a deep love for choral music, and maintain the high artistic standards of our choral program. Key Responsibilities  Direction & Rehearsals: Plan, manage, and conduct regular weekly rehearsals for the Treble Choir, ensuring high-quality musical training and vocal development.  Repertoire Selection: Select a diverse, engaging, and age-appropriate repertoire that challenges students and elevates their musicality.  Performances & Competitions: Prepare and lead the choir for school concerts, the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, and other prestigious local or international events/competitions.  Vocal Pedagogy: Implement effective vocal techniques tailored for treble/youth voices, focusing on intonation, blend, diction, and healthy vocal production.  Collaboration: Work closely with our Chief Choral Conductor and our Music Director, teacher-in-charge, and the wider Music Department to align with the school's strategic musical vision. Qualifications & Requirements  Academic Background: A degree in Music (majoring in Choral Conducting, Vocal Performance, Music Education, or a related discipline) is highly preferred.  Experience: Proven track record of conducting and developing youth, children’s, or treble choirs to an exceptional standard.  Skills: o Deep understanding of vocal pedagogy for young and changing voices. o Strong rehearsal technique and excellent classroom management skills. o Proficiency in piano accompaniment is an advantage.  Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Attributes: Inspiring, energetic, highly organized, and deeply committed to holistic student development through music.
